ABOUT ABOUT

Inherit the Wind

By Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee

Presented by special arrangement with DRAMATISTS PLAY SERVICE. INC.

Directed by Pat O’Neill

Debuting in 1955, the story is a fictionalization of the 1925 Scopes “Monkey” Trial and served as a vehicle to discuss the then-contemporary “Red Scare” trials spearheaded by Senator Joseph P. McCarthy. The play has contemporary resonance and relevance as the debate over creationism versus evolution continues across America today.
